Welcome to B&VI

Hi and welcome to B&VI, B&VI stands for Blind and visually impaired. B&VI is a Blog about blind and visually impaired created by me.

My name is Milind, I'm born with eyesight it"s called toxoplasmosis, toxoplasmosis caused by cats hair when a woman is pregnant.

What is Toxoplasmosis?

A disease that results from infection with the Toxoplasma gondii parasite.

Toxoplasmosis results from infection with a common parasite found in cat faeces and contaminated food. It can cause serious complications for pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms include muscle pain, fever and headache, all of which can last for weeks.

Medication can reduce infection severity. But the best approach is prevention by avoiding exposure. People with weakened immune systems should use preventive medication.

How it spreads?

By blood products (unclean needles or unscreened blood).

Through contaminated food or water.

By mother to baby by pregnancy, labor, or nursing.

What Complications Are Associated with Toxoplasmosis?

The reason that pregnant woman should take special precautions to avoid toxoplasmosis is that it can be very serious, even fatal, for a baby infected in the uterus. For those who survive, toxoplasmosis can have lasting consequences on the:

  • brain

  • eyes

  • heart

  • lungs

They may also have mental and physical developmental delays and recurring seizures.

In general, babies who are infected early during pregnancy suffer from more severe issues than those infected later in the pregnancy. Babies born with toxoplasmosis may have a higher risk of hearing and vision losses. Some children may be affected by learning disabilities

My advice is to all mother's

if you are a cat lover, when you are in the period of pregnancy, bring your cat to a family or friend, for the safety of the child.

We had an amazing family time #mauritius
